Additional notes:
The Lewes Guitar Festival has taken a year off in 2008. The event will return next year. This highly successful and important musical event developed out of the fact that Lewes has one of the largest group of guitar makers in the country working in the town.
2009 will also be the year in which Lewes celebrates the memory of Tom Paine, one of the town’s most famous inhabitants.
